I caught the funk! Whatever has been going around here at work has finally made its way to me. So I've been doped up on Mucinex and Advil Cold and Sinus since Sunday. But it seems to be going away now. I haven't taken any medicine today! But I still feel like I've got my head in a bubble because of the medicine.

Dude, this weekend is going to be a movie going weekend. Didn't really intend for it to be that way, it just kinda happened. I'm going to see the Sex and the City movie on Sunday morning. I'm going by myself, cause none of my friends are really into that movie. But no big deal, I don't mind seeing movies by myself. On Saturday Matt and I are going to see the new Indiana Jones movie with one of the guys I work with. He's one of the older guys and would normally see this movie with his son, but his son is in India for study abroad. Matt wants to go see Indy and I really don't, but he doesn't like going by himself. & the guy here at work didn't want to go by himself. So I figured it'd be nice to invite him along.

At least we won't be out in the hot sun this weekend. We went to the Renaissance festival last weekend. It wasn't that great. Thankfully I got tickets for it here at work, so it didn't cost me anything to get in. It just is mostly a bunch of little shops selling stuff. I think with just the way a lot of people talk about it I was expecting more. So it was kinda disappointing. It was extremely crowded too! We figured it was because it was Memorial Day weekend and gas is so expensive. But I really wasn't expecting that big of a crowd!

I worked on some necklaces while I was laying around trying to get better. I made about 4 of them. One isn't so great, so I doubt I'll try doing anything with it. I'll just keep it hanging around until I decide to take it apart and use the beads for something else. But two of them turned out great and I might try selling them on etsy. We'll see.

I love 4 day work weeks.

So I caught the funk from Matt. :p My throat's been all sore and scratchy today. I got sick on Thursday and got over the stuffiness and now it's in the throat. :( Suck.

Matt and I went to one of my friend's birthday dinner last night. (That sentence doesn't sound right, but I'm gonna leave it. The general gist is there). It was fun and I even enjoyed my Mexican food. Kinda. The flour part of the enchilada was kinda gross, but the spinach and cheese was good. We couldn't go out with them afterwards though, cause Matt had to go to work this morning. So we left after dinner and came on home. We did stop by Hollywood Video first and rented Harvest Moon: Another Wonderful Life. It's really fun, I was up all night playing it. Then I woke up this morning and played it some more.

I've gotta call about the same job tomorrow that I've been chasing after for a month now. Oy, I wish they'd just give me SOME kind of answer. Yes or no. I'll even take a no at this point. (Although I don't really want to). Oh and last night I found out that a mutual friend was helping the birthday girl get a job at her place. :/ I mean, yeah, she's helped me get in touch with the right people when I tried to get a job there, it just didn't work out. But still, doesn't mean another chance wouldn't work out. That kind of hurt, cause unemployed! Three months over here! Not even living paycheck to paycheck anymore. We're just floating. I don't know why it bothered me, it shouldn't. I shouldn't be surprised, that seems to happen to me a lot. I should be used to it now.

It's a good thing my medicine has been upped. 3 months of this and then other great life situations make for one hell of a lame time right now. 

Christmas was pretty good this year. Not awesome, because I have bronchitis. Yeah, that totally sucked the Christmas spirit right out of me. But Matt took really good care of me, so I can't complain there. & now he's sick with a cold. I'm at least better enough to not feel like killing myself at work. Cause that was the worst. I tried one of those Minute Clinics though. It was really cool & I think I will be going there from now on, unless I need a referral for something. Cause I waited for only 1 minute. Then she checked me out the same way my doctor would. It was viral, so she gave me medicine to help the symptoms. Bonus: I got a card in the mail today thanking me for coming by! My doctor NEVER sends me a thank you card. He just wants my co-pay, then he kicks me out.

I feel very lucky looking at that list. I have a generous family. On both sides, not just my parents. The pups made out like bandits too. They had stockings full of treats and nylabones. Matt also went to Just Dogs bakery and got them gourmet treats. Zoe's 1 year birthday (it made me kinda sad) was on Christmas Day. So he got her a carob melted lollipop that said Happy Birthday. The stick was a rawhide treat! We let Lucy have the big party hat cookie, so that they got equal amounts.

Now I'm trying to get rid of my cough. I'm still coughing up stuff, so I guess I don't want to get rid of it too fast. It's very annoying though. My voice is still kinda scratchy. Anyway, I hope that whoever (whomever?) reads this had a nice holiday season too.

I went to Target after work today and got $140 worth of stuff for $70. So that was pretty sweet. It was pretty picked thru by the time I was able to get there, but that's ok. I still got nice stuff.

My throat is killing me. My voice is all gravelly and sad sounding. & not in a hot "when Phoebe had a cold" way. In a "ew, you sound gross" way. Which totally sucks, cause while I'm done with my Christmas shopping, I still have stuff I want to do. Like make Kris Kringles and finish my grandma's present. & another of Matt's presents. Bleh. I just don't feel like doing it. My throat hurts even worse now because I had to be on the phone all day at work. Of course my boss didn't send me home. If I call in, I don't get paid for the day. If she sends me home, I would get paid for the rest of the day.

But Matt and the puppies are taking good care of me. Well Lucy is doing a good job of chewing on a Nylabone next to me on the bed here. Zoe's in the living room hanging out with Matt. I love watching them chew on Nylabones. They grab one end of the bone in their paws and wrap them around the bottom of it and chew chew chew. I just love how their little paws grasp the bottom of the bones.

My mom gave us a Christmas present early. It's a 6 month subscription to Netflix. I've missed Netflix, so that'll be fun. My first choice on there will be "Little Miss Sunshine". I've heard so many good things about it, I just really wanna see it.

Exciting story of the day: I went to the bank to deposit my paycheck. I requested $40 of it to be given back to me in cash and the rest deposited. I was in the drive-thru line and had been there for about 15 minutes. When I finally got my turn and my cash, I just grabbed it and went on. I went to get a sandwhich and went to grab a $20 to pay for it. I grabbed the first $20 and underneath that was a $100! I was like, Woah! That's not what I wanted!

I checked my deposit slip and she had gotten the amount correct to deposit, so she ended up giving me an extra $80. I didn't have time to go back during my lunch break, so I called them when I got back to work and told them what happened and that I'd be by after I got off work. So I went by there after work and explained to the guy working the customer service desk what had happened (cause I had spoken to a woman earlier). Turns out he was the manager and was really thankful that I brought it back. So I got my $20 and they got their $80 back. Even though I did want to keep it. I just wouldn't have felt right. But maaannn. It woulda been sweet to have the extra $80.
