Rock on! So Watkins has this community education program. I love it btw, I did the Black and White Photo Lab one summer. It was great and a nice chance to continue developing my own film and pictures. I do miss that sometimes. Anyway, this summer they have two computer imaging classes Intro to Adobe Illustrator/In-design CS2 & Photoshop I. I prefer to take the Adobe Illustrator/In-design class. I think that will be more of what I can use here at work and to help me advance into designing stuff around here, not just for work, but also for clients.
But, considering it's going to be $215 for either class, I'm going to have to raise some money first. Cause yeah, Matt's going to be making more at his new job, but he doesn't start it until the 5th of May. So the extra money flow won't be felt right away. Luckily though, Matt's family is having a yard sale and have offered to let us sell stuff at it. & luckily I want to get rid of A LOT of stuff at the house. We've got about 6 years worth of crap (cause we carried a lot over from college) that we never use anymore and we just need to get rid of. I'm hoping to make about $100 at the yard sale, which I think is doable. One year I had one and made enough to pay for Matt's tuxedo rental when he was in his friends wedding.
The yard sale is on the 3rd of May though, so I'm pretty much going to go home tonight and box up as much crap from our office as I can. I gotta clean it out anyway, cause we're going to put Zoe in her new crate in there when Matt starts his job. I don't want anything within chewing distance to her. I also need to start watching more movies for my 300 total for melflix.com cause I don't want to be holding off too much or I'll never get the 300 done. I think I can work for about 2 hours tonight when I get home and then watch a movie after that...right? Oh crap, I also have to wash my hair tonight (it does take a while - well not the washing part - but I do have to straighten it out with this new haircut). Hmm. Eff it! I can do it!
While I am disappointed that the Preds didn't make it past Round 1, at least I don't have to worry about making time to catch the game until it starts up again. Although I am trying to follow the rest of the Stanley Cup playoffs. I'm just very much a newbie to hockey, so I really only know my team. I don't know enough about the rest of the teams to follow. But I'm going to try. Cause now I like hockey too much and want to hear/see it year round. In fact, I'm asking for XM radio for my birthday so I can listen to the NHL channel. In less than a year, I turned into a hockey girl. Who knew?
Christmas was pretty good this year. Not awesome, because I have bronchitis. Yeah, that totally sucked the Christmas spirit right out of me. But Matt took really good care of me, so I can't complain there. & now he's sick with a cold. I'm at least better enough to not feel like killing myself at work. Cause that was the worst. I tried one of those Minute Clinics though. It was really cool & I think I will be going there from now on, unless I need a referral for something. Cause I waited for only 1 minute. Then she checked me out the same way my doctor would. It was viral, so she gave me medicine to help the symptoms. Bonus: I got a card in the mail today thanking me for coming by! My doctor NEVER sends me a thank you card. He just wants my co-pay, then he kicks me out.
But Christmas was good. Here is my "made out like a bandit" list:
-JoAnn's giftcard
-Target giftcard (which was spent today on 24 season 2)
-2 Hello Kitty ornaments
-Chococat box
-Guitar Hero II
-New book
-Scrapbook suitcase organizer thingy
-Scrapbook
-Netflix subscription for 6 months
-Entertainment Weekly subscription for 6 months
-2 Spongebob ornaments
-Knitting books
-Handmade ornaments from my grandma
-Handmade scarf
-Scrapbook for the puppies made specifically for them
-Eiffel Tower earrings
-3 Eiffel Tower sculptures
-Eiffel Tower ornament
-Eiffel Tower oil holder
-New tires for my car!
-2 frames for the puppies
& money
I feel very lucky looking at that list. I have a generous family. On both sides, not just my parents. The pups made out like bandits too. They had stockings full of treats and nylabones. Matt also went to Just Dogs bakery and got them gourmet treats. Zoe's 1 year birthday (it made me kinda sad) was on Christmas Day. So he got her a carob melted lollipop that said Happy Birthday. The stick was a rawhide treat! We let Lucy have the big party hat cookie, so that they got equal amounts.
Now I'm trying to get rid of my cough. I'm still coughing up stuff, so I guess I don't want to get rid of it too fast. It's very annoying though. My voice is still kinda scratchy. Anyway, I hope that whoever (whomever?) reads this had a nice holiday season too.
I went to Target after work today and got $140 worth of stuff for $70. So that was pretty sweet. It was pretty picked thru by the time I was able to get there, but that's ok. I still got nice stuff.
Aw crap! The sushi we got at the grocery store tonight said Crunchy Shrimp Roll, but it was really Crab! That sucks!
So a lot has happened. Let's see. On Wednesday on the way home from work I won tickets off the radio to the Dave Matthews concert that night. So I got Matt and we went out to the concert. It was really good. I think they sound even better live than they do on their CDs, which is really cool. I loved it. We took Zoe over to my mom's house so she could hang out there. They both had fun I think.
On Thursday I went to a little happy hour thing with some of the Knottie girls. Afterwards I went to Great Escape and found The Best of So Graham Norton. I love him, he's HILARIOUS. I wish we got him here in the States. Then Matt met me down there and we went to Ken's for sushi. I was so addicted to the sushi that we went back there on Friday for dinner again. It's just so good! & I love Ken's because his sushi is much cheaper than where we used to go and it's so much fresher.
Today my mom came over and we took Zoe and Lucy to the Humane Association and they got microchips! It was only $40 for both of them. Zoe did NOT want to go in the Rover van to get the shot. I think because it smelled like a vet in there. She didn't like it. Lucy was scared while we were there. I wonder if she thought we were gonna leave her there. The woman that had her in the lobby for us when we adopted her was there and loved seeing her again. So now they have microchips in them, which makes me happy. I know it doesn't guarantee we'll get them back if they ran away, but it's still a good thing. My dad and Matt changed my brakes this afternoon too and added coolant to my car. So it's a happy car.
I have two interviews this week. I also FINALLY made an eye doctors appointment and go on Thursday. I'm excited to go, cause I'm ready to start seeing better again. It's been about 3 years since I've been to an eye exam, so it was more than time. Things are coming along. Let's hope they continue and a new job comes soon.
Aww, lookit how cute Zoe was when she was a puppy. I mean, she still is, but when she was a BRAND NEW puppy. She had short little legs and a fat belly! So cute. Matt found a video of her that we had taken one afternoon when we were playing with her. It was so cute to see her little puppy fat. She's so fun. It's crazy to see pictures of her when she was a puppy, cause I'm so used to seeing her as she is now.
She's scared of our Swiffer Wet Jet right now. It's probably because Matt brings it out when they're playing. So she's not actually scared of it, cause she'll walk past it in the hallway. She just likes to bark and run from it when they're playing. It's all very cute to watch.
I have another interview this afternoon and then the place I did the phone interview for on Monday afternoon have called back this morning to schedule a second interview. So that makes me feel good. I also need to look on some more websites and send out more resumes. Even though I'm getting interviews, can't put all my money on them actually working out.
Ohhh, last night I watched the wonderous Lifetime film "No One Ever Told" starring Candace Cameron and Fred Savage. It's very weird to watch Fred Savage play a guy who beats up on his girlfriend and eventually kills her (trust me, I didn't spoil anything. That's how all those Lifetime movies go). It was almost humorous to watch, because he just did such a bad job at acting in it. Candace Cameron did okay, as did everyone else. But he was quite funny in it. Ohh Lifetime TV.
